Comelec not printing excess ballots
MANILA -- A ballot for each registered voter, no more, no less.
Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman Benjamin Abalos, Sr., assured the public on Monday that the poll body would not print excess ballots, to quell fears of massive cheating in the May elections in the wake of newspaper reports (not in the Philippine Daily Inquirer) that the poll body was printing an additional four million ballots for the May 14 elections.
"The ratio is 1:1 only, not more than that. There will be no more ballots printed for spoilage because we have seen in past elections that not 100 percent [of registered voters] vote," Abalos said.
